In this Ted Talk, Swedish photographer, Erik Johansson, speaks about his interest in creating photo-realistic images that capture an idea more than they do a moment. Since the birth of photography, people have argued over the medium’s ability to capture “reality.” In recent years, that argument has become ever more prevalent as photo-editing software has come into commercial use. Since Johansson claims that he is trying to capture an idea more than a moment, the argument over the reality of an image does not really pertain to his surreal mental visions that he turns into photo-realistic images.
